Flattering Sheath Dress For Me!

If there is a style of dress that I would certainly not get tired of wearing, the sheath dress is definitely on top of my list! A classic dress that was made to fit the body and hoursglass shape of a woman, the sheath dress can be flattering and practical to wear for women of all ages. Truthfully, if I were asked to recommend a piece of clothing to a family or a friend, I will say that one of the most versatile clothing that every woman should have is a sheath dress. They would definitely be on top of my list because the versatility of these sheath dresses are unmatched!

Sheath style dresses are known for their hourglass shape and they fit with average chest and hip, more narrow waist.  What makes the sheath dress a classic is that it is not only flattering but it is also versatile. Whatever the season or the look that you are going for on a particular day, you can easily accessorize it and pair it with a belt or scarf. For a layered look, a cardigan, jacket or a sweater will also work very well!

Sheath style dress in varying fabrics – from wool, acetate and polyester and cotton blends, are the most common  materials in sheath dresses today. Cotton and silk jersey blends, which are a bit lighter and more flexible in fit due to allowable stretch, are also popular textile blends used for a sheath dress.  When it comes to colors, a sheath dress can be found in classic and solid colors like black, red or blue; light or bright colors like pink or hot pink; or in a variety of prints like floral, polka dots, stripes or geometric patterns. Although solid colors are always a hit, dark colors are much more flattering compared to lighter ones when you want to hide some imperfections and look thinner than usual. At the end of the day, going for patterns or going for a solid color is your decision.

I really love this classic style of dress and believe it is an absolute must-have for every woman’s wardrobe!  I personally recommend that every woman purchase at least one sheath dress too! If you want to purchase a sheath dress, check out this vintage floral sheath dress from Bubble and Co
